SUMMARY:Applied AI Lunch Talks
DESCRIPTION:Applied AI Lunch Talk is where industry\, startups\, and academia meet around technology\, business\, and societal impact. \nOn October 23rd we will host two short talks by the DTU Startups ChatTutor and AIMO. \nTalk: From Research Idea to EdTech Startup: Harnessing AI to Enhance Learning \nHow can artificial intelligence be directed toward meaningful learning rather than distraction? In this talk\, Marius Cortsen\, cofounder and CEO of ChatTutor\, will share the story of how an idea at DTU grew into a startup and research platform. Drawing on lessons from both entrepreneurship and educational research\, he will explore how ChatTutor builds pedagogical AI agents designed to amplify human knowledge while keeping the learner at the center. Along the way\, he will reflect on the challenges of aligning technology\, pedagogy\, and research in the fast-moving world of AI. \nSpeaker: Marius Cortsen Co-founder & CEO at ChatTutor.io \nWith a background in innovation\, design\, facilitation\, and training\, Marius delivers the fuel that makes people\, brands\, and processes thrive through customer-centric methods\, strategic experimentation\, and collaborative design. He combines design thinking\, lean startup\, and strategic design to help organizations turn complex challenges into opportunities for growth and transformation. \nTalk: Why Finance Systems Mislead — Uncovering Hidden Costs with AI \nFinance systems often mislead by celebrating savings while hiding even larger costs. The result? Organizations pay more than they realize. In this talk\, I’ll reveal how our research uncovered these blind spots — and demonstrate how AIMO and its AI models can expose hidden costs\, deliver real-time insights\, and transform decision-making for smarter strategies. \nSpeaker: Carsten Keinicke Fjord Christensen\, PhD\, Researcher at DTU and Founder at AIMO Generative Insights (www.AIMOgi.com) \nCarsten Keinicke Fjord Christensen holds a PhD in Product Development and leads the AIMO research project\, using AI to uncover hidden costs and improve decision-making. With a background spanning academia and entrepreneurship\, he bridges research and practice to help organizations understand the true impact of product choices.

SUMMARY:Applied AI Lunch Talks - Tetatet & DemensAI
DESCRIPTION:Applied AI Lunch Talks are a series of free talks where people from industry\, academia\, and the startup world get together to learn more about the business cases\, technical challenges\, ethical aspects relevant for specific applied AI use cases. \nOn March 14th 12:00-13:00 you can attend the following two talks – either online or at DTU Skylab: \nTALK 1: \n“AI for Mental Health” \nThis talk presents research in AI for emotion recognition and behavioral coding and how it can be used in mental health. The applications in health include research in psychiatry\, an emotionally aware AI coach\, and couple therapy. The talk will also discuss ethical concerns like biases in AI. \nTALK 1 SPEAKER: \nLine Clemmensen\, Co-founder\, CTO of Tetatet\, Associate Professor at DTU Compute \nLine is a Professor at DTU Compute\, co-founder and CSO of Tetatet\, and co-founding Soil. Her research is focused on machine learning and artificial intelligence with applications in psychiatry\, amongst other. \nTALK 2: \nHow can dementia be detected in speech with AI? The DemensAI approach \nWith over 55 million people affected worldwide and ranking as the 7th leading cause of death\, dementia represents a significant health challenge. However\, the healthcare system is under enormous pressure and is looking for better tools and innovative solutions to streamline diagnosis without adding to the workload.  This talk focuses on how DemensAI offers a passive\, AI-driven approach to dementia detection. By analyzing speech in a non-intrusive way\, DemensAI helps to lighten the workload for doctors and clinicians.  We will discuss the challenges of the current diagnostic system and explore the potential of speech as a window into brain cognition with AI. \nTALK 2 SPEAKERS : \nLaurine Dargaud\, CTO of DemensAI \nLaurine is co-founder and CTO of DemensAI. She holds a DTU MSc degree in Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence\, and she developed the proof of concept for DemensAI: a speech-based model that can detect Alzheimer’s disease based on a voice recording of picture description. \nAbhista Partal\, CSO of DemensAI \nAbhista is co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer of DemensAI. He holds a DTU MSc degree in Autonomous Systems\, with a specialization in Explainable AI. Abhista is dedicated to AI research and development at DemensAI\, experimenting with the latest speech and language models to improve dementia detection.
