SUMMARY:Øresundsdagen 4
DESCRIPTION:The purpose of Øresundsdagen is to provide mathematicians\, mathematics education researchers\, teachers and other stakeholders involved in university mathematics education with a forum to exchange experiences and insights and discuss current challenges. We encourage all interested participants to contribute with short presentations (20 minutes) to share their best practices. \nThis time\, we specifically want to explore the following question: \nHow should\, and should not (!)\, AI shape the future of introductory mathematics at the university level?

SUMMARY:ARCO Algorithmic Research-Cooperation around Oresound
DESCRIPTION:ARCO (Algorithmic Research: Cooperation around Oresound) was established 2011 as a network for exchange of research within algorithms and to promote the general interest in this research area within the Oresund Region. The idea is to meet once or twice per year for a one-day workshop. \nOn April 12th 2024\, at the Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and letters\, H.C. Andersens Boulevard 35\, Copenhagen Central\, we plan to have some talks\, some lunch together\, more talks\, opportunities for collaboration\, “smørebrød” for dinner\, and then the possibility of going out for a drink on town in the evening. Workshop attendance including meals is sponsored by DDSA*\, and the venue is close to the central station for convenience. \n*) Note that the registration deadline has passed. \nContributed talks:\nChristian Janos Lebeda\, ITU: “Better Differentially Private Approximate Histograms and Heavy Hitters using the Misra-Gries Sketch”\nAnna Brötzner\, MAU: “Flips in Odd Matchings”\nKasper Green Larsen\, Aarhus: “Bagging is an Optimal PAC Learner”\nLasse Wulf\, DTU: “A large and natural Class of Sigma-2 and Sigma-3 complete Problems in Bilevel and Robust Optimization”\nLene Monrad Favrholdt\, SDU: “Online Unit Profit Knapsack with Predictions”\nJack Tor Stade\, KU: “Hardness of Packing Simple Polygons with Unit Squares”\nJuliette Vlieghe\, DTU: “Sparsity Parametrised Edge Colouring”\nAndy Oertel\, Lund: “Certified 0-1 Integer Linear Programming”\nDuri Andrea Janett\, KU: “Supercritical Trade-offs for Resolution Depth Versus Width”\nAmik Raj Behera\, Aarhus: “Local Correction of Linear Functions” \nThis event is sponsored by Danish Data Science Academy (DDSA). \nAll participants must adhere to DDSA’s code of conduct.

SUMMARY:Digital Twin University Hackathon
DESCRIPTION:Monday the 22nd\, students\, lecturers\, researchers\, start ups and learning experts are invited to collaborate during the week to build a working prototype of a digital twin using a mix of game engines\, digital twins\, reality capture and VR / AR. The results will be presented on Friday the 26th. \nOur goal is to provide a learning experience and leverage real-time data collected from DTU Skylab\, encompassing building usage\, environmental sensor data\, and 3D prototypes\, by deploying generative AI tools. This innovative approach will propel the development of the 3D Digital Twin of DTU Skylab. This event follows a collaborative hackathon format\, where the Digital Twin serves as a source for ideation and prototyping. Researchers\, Startups and companies that participate can not only engage in groundbreaking projects but also identify and recruit talented students who are drawn to this exceptional event.
