Welcome to your calendar for data science events! Dive into a curated list of courses, conferences, seminars, workshops, and key deadlines. Tailor your search to match your interests by adjusting the event category filters. For those specifically looking for PhD courses, simply modify the filter settings to include these events as well. Stay connected and up-to-date with the latest in data science, all in one place.
Aim and content
This course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD Students from NorDoc member faculties. All other participants must pay the course fee.
Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at a Danish university, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline.
This also applies to PhD students from NorDoc member faculties. After the enrollment deadline, available seats will be allocated to applicants on the waiting list.
Learning objectives
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
1. The student will be able to plan their experimental setup for running and analyzing flow cytometry samples, apply this in a practical setting, analyze the achieved data, and compare the data to other groups.
2. The student will be able to design panels for high parameter flow cytometry and know the inherent pitfalls
3. The student will get a detailed overview and be inspired of many relevant protocols and options for using flow cytometry in their work.
Content
The course will start with a summer school, where you are introduced to basic and advanced flow cytometry.
The summer school will take you through some of the pitfalls in flow cytometry especially related to panel design and data analysis.
The course will carry on as a series of state-of-the-art lectures from international high end users in many fields in flow cytometry and cell sorting, this includes:
• State-of-the-art image-based cell sorting
• Flow cytometry in immunology
• Flow cytometry in hematology and MRD
• Combined flow cytometry and microscopy
• A bioinformaticians take on analysis of high parameter flow cytometry data
• Data management/analysis/AI
• Advanced data analysis including clustering and dimensionality reduction
• Small particle flow cytometry (EV analysis)
• Clinical flow cytometry
• Mass cytometry
• New applications in flow cytometry
• Poster session
There will be 4 session dedicated oral presentations from students, and 2 poster viewing sessions.
It is mandatory for PhD students signed up at this course to submit an abstract and bring a poster for the meeting.
Participants
PhD students and people on similar level. No previous skills in flow cytometry are needed, but limited knowledge in the field will be an advantage
