Position: Freelancer
Categories: Humanities, Social Science
Location: Region Hovedstaden

Background

I have more than 15 years in data analysis/data science in a university administration setting following graduate training to the PhD level in the social sciences with a focus on education policy with a specific focus in educational access and outcomes. My main areas of focus and strength are in data sourcing, exploratory data analysis, data visualization, and predictive modeling. At UC Berkeley I worked in the Undergraduate Admissions office and at the Haas School of Business. I have also led data teams. I mainly use r for all stages of data work, but have used Excel, SAS and SQL. Starting to get acquainted with dbt and the basics of data engineering.

Motivation

With more than 15 years as a professional data analyst/data scientist and educator I believe I can be a good source of information for newer professionals, and to return the mentorship I received early in my career. I also hope to hone my mentoring skills and expand my network in Denmark, having moved back to Copenhagen in December 2022. At the moment I am a freelance analyst and searching for full-time work. I have been keeping busy with personal data projects, and gave a talk at a recent CopehagenR users group.
