The case competition that challenges your entire data science toolbox
Get your hands dirty using data science to solve a realistic business problem. Join us for a fun and challenging night of case cracking, pizza, drinks and the chance to meet top-tier data scientists from Halfspace.
How will the evening play out?
You will be teamed up with other participants and charged with solving a business problem for a client.
We will introduce the case and hand you a dataset. From thereon, it will require effective team work, quick thinking and all your programming, statistics, and machine learning skills to turn that data into actionable recommendations for the client.
The solution that delivers the best results will be rewarded.
The case is developed by Data Scientists at Halfspace, and will challenge even the most advanced students.
Apart from solving a technical case, you will get the opportunity to meet other like-minded problem solvers, and to learn more about Halfspace and the people who work here. We will provide plenty of coffee, food, and drinks to enjoy during the evening.
We will be making teams of 3-4 participants. During the application, you can specify if there are other participants that you would like to be on a team with. We will try our best to accommodate these wishes. But don’t be afraid to sign up alone, or without a full team! We will make sure to pair everyone up with other exceptional participants, based on their background and preferred data science toolbox, and we guarantee a fun, sociable evening of interesting problem solving for everyone.
Who are you?
You love to solve challenging real-world problems, and you can solve them with data, machine learning and statistics.
You may be a master’s student in a relevant field, a professional already working in data science, or something completely different – but you definitely have the toolbox to extract quantitative insights from data.
You want to get a taste of using that toolbox on an interesting problem, in a friendly, competitive setting, while meeting fellow problem solvers.
