Data Visualisation Workshop 2023

The Data Visualisation Workshop was a two-day intensive course held on November 15-16, 2023, at Milling Hotel Park in Middelfart, Denmark. This joint event, organized by the Danish Data Science Academy, the Danish Cardiovascular Academy, and the Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy, aimed to enhance early career researchers’ ability to communicate research findings effectively through visualizations.

The workshop covered theoretical concepts and practical techniques for transforming complex data into insightful visual representations. Participants learned visualization principles, analyzed their own visualizations, worked on domain-specific tasks, and engaged in group work using the Five Design-Sheets Methodology. The event also provided networking opportunities through dinner and social activities.

Led by Hans-Jörg Schulz, Associate Professor at Aarhus University, the workshop was designed for data scientists, basic and translational research scientists, clinical researchers, and clinicians working within the scope of the organizing academies. The event was free to attend and included accommodations for participants, fostering a collaborative learning environment for the Danish research community.
