Visit Grants
DDSA invites students and researchers from all parts of the world to come visit a data science research environment in Denmark. The purpose of the DDSA Visit Grant is to attract students and early career researchers interested in forming a future fellowship application (PhD or Postdoc) in collaboration with a potential supervisor from a Danish university or a Danish research institution.
Application Deadline: Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis until September 1, 2026, or until funds are exhausted. All funded travel activity must be completed by October 1, 2026.
Attention:
In 2026, DDSA-funded travels, and visits must have been completed no later than October 1, as we must conclude DDSA’s 5-year budget by December
What is a DDSA Visit Grant?
As part of the DDSA Fellowship Programme, DDSA provides funding for national and international bachelor’s and master’s degree students, PhD students and postdoctoral researchers to spend time with new research groups of interest in Denmark.
The purpose of the grant is to give students and young researchers the opportunity to form the basis for a future PhD or Postdoc fellowship application in collaboration with a potential supervisor from a Danish university or a Danish research institution.
What does the grant cover?
The grant contributes up to DKK 15,000 to cover costs for travel (arrival and departure), accommodation and related expenses.
The grant does not fund salary, daily allowances, food expenses, daily local transportation expenses, or car rentals.
In general, DDSA promotes the use of public transport and encourages the use of trains and buses. The use of private vehicles or taxis is only allowed if it is justified in terms of cost and time and will have to be pre-approved by DDSA on a case-by-case basis.
