Background

Ramtin is a senior research engineer and data scientist with a multidisciplinary background in biomedical engineering, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. He holds a PhD in Biomedical Science and Engineering from Aalborg University and has over a decade of experience spanning academia, industry, and clinical research. His recent work focuses on AI applications in healthcare, with emphasis on explainable and trustworthy machine learning for clinical decision support. He has developed open-source tools such as the Medical AI Toolbox and the ExplaineR R package, and has contributed to research on precision medicine, biomedical signal processing, and healthcare technologies. He has collaborated with medical doctors, data scientists, and engineers in both academic and industry settings and has mentored students and professionals from various disciplines.

Motivation

Through this mentoring program, He hopes to raise awareness within AI communities about real-world challenges and promote discussions around best practices. By sharing insights from applied research, he aims to help the next generation of data scientists recognize often-overlooked issues in AI development and implementation, encouraging responsible and impactful solutions.
