Background
I’m a computational biologist, passionate about understanding biology using math and computers. Currently I work in the food and biotech industries, using mathematical modeling, data science and genomics to better understand what bacteria do and how we can use them to develop safer, tastier and better products. I’m a big fan of using software development practices in the biotech sphere, and a true believer of the power of computers for standardizing the way in which we do science. I have a PhD in systems biology, and a master’s in biotechnology engineering. I have been for 4 years at Novonesis, and before that I did a postdoc at DTU. I am originally from Chile.
Motivation
I would very much like to share the little knowledge I have accumulated after 12 years in my scientific journey. Anything from supporting aspiring data scientists, getting them to connect with potential career options within the biotech sector, or just passionately talking about the future of biotech.
