Background

Paraskevas is a final-year PhD candidate at the Technical University of Denmark and the Pioneer Center for AI, specializing in Generative and Explainable AI. He has a background in applied mathematics and computer science, and his research spans machine learning, computer vision, and multimodal models, focused on building trustworthy, responsible AI systems. He has contributed to both methodological and applied research projects in interdisciplinary areas such as medical imaging and food science, with results featured at leading AI conferences and in high-impact journals.
Paraskevas’s work experience in sectors such as remote sensing, aerospace, and the pharmaceutical industry has provided him with valuable opportunities to collaborate with cross-disciplinary, high-performing teams on real-world, data-driven applications. His goal is to develop AI solutions that connect cutting-edge research with practical impact.

Motivation 

Paraskevas is eager to support early-career data scientists and young AI researchers. Having relocated to Denmark and worked in both academia and industry, he understands the challenges of adapting to a new culture and navigating career decisions. As a mentor, he hopes to share practical advice on AI research, career development, and settling into life in Denmark — especially for international students. Above all, he aims to help students build confidence, set ambitious goals, and thrive in the field of AI and data science.
