Wutong Xia

Position: Data Governance Lead

Background

I work in data governance and AI literacy at MB Shipbrokers in Denmark, embedded day-to-day with data scientists, and my academic background includes machine learning and AI coursework. Alongside my professional path, I’m trained in coaching and strengths-based development (CliftonStrengths), focused on human-centered career growth. I’m not a hands-on engineer, but I understand the data/AI world my mentees work in, and my real expertise is helping people find direction, clarify their strengths, and grow into confident professionals.

Motivation

My motivation is to help the next generation of data talent grow: not only technically, but as whole professionals who know their strengths and where they’re heading. I’ve designed peer workshops for mentees making the student-to-first-job leap, and I’ve seen how much a steady, honest sounding board matters at that stage. I want to bring that into a structured setting: helping people position themselves with confidence, clarify their direction, and feel empowered to own their career growth.
