Background

I am Head of Machine Learning at Corti, a scaleup company bringing machine learning to written and spoken healthcare conversations. Prior to that, I worked in data science in the pharmaceutical industry at Novo Nordisk.
My academic background is in bioinformatics and I have obtained Bachelor, Master, and PhD degrees in this interdisciplinary field. I am originally from Germany but have lived and worked in Denmark for the last ~ten years with my family.

Motivation

I have been part of the previous iteration of the mentoring programme – both as a mentor and mentee – and learned a lot in both roles. As a mentor, I would like to share my experience related to career planning, technical leadership especially within data and machine learning, working in small and large companies, transitioning from a PhD to industry, my technical expertise, and more.
