What is the DDSA Cross-Academy Cooperation Committee?

The Cross-Academy Collaboration Committee (CAC) consists of 4-5 members whose competencies lie in the intersection between the scientific fields of Danish Data Science Academy and the Danish Diabetes and Endocrine Academy , the Danish Cardiovascular Academy , and the Neuroscience Academy Denmark. CAC is a sub-committee of the DDSA Education and Networking Committee.

CAC provides strategic recommendations and input to the DDSA Secretariat for new courses and activities that appeals to two or more of the above-mentioned collaborating academies. CAC also evaluates incoming suggestions from the other academies. CAC members are engaged in developing these new activities together with the Secretariat and the sister academies.

The following 3 current CAC members will continue till end 2026, and we are looking for 1-2 new members to join them:

    • Chair Adam Hulman, Steno Diabetes Center Aarhus, Associate Professor
    • Member Melanie Ganz-Benjaminsen, Department of Computer Science, University of Copenhagen and Neurobiology Research Unit, Rigshospitalet, Associate Professor
    • Member Josefine Vilsbøll Sundgaard, Novo Nordisk/DTU, Senior Postdoctoral Researcher

What can You Expect as a CAC member?

CAC meets at least two times a year virtually or in person. The committee gives its strategic recommendations to the DDSA Secretariat in the third quarter of each year. Further, there are ad hoc planning meetings for the individual activities.

DDSA will reimburse transport costs for your attendance in committee meetings.

A committee member can still apply for DDSA grants. CAC works in accordance with DDSA Conflicts of Interest.

As a committee member you will be invited into a great network of like-minded peers within Danish data science. You are also invited to DDSA’s annual conferences and other major events free of charge.

The appointment period is from August 2024 until December 2026.
